Signage on Public Roads
All street signs, including stop signs and street name signs, are maintained by the Township if they are located on a Township owned road.
Any signs located on a County road are maintained by the County of Lanark.
Any signs located on the Provincial highway are maintained by the Ministry of Transportation.
Should you notice a sign missing or damaged, please notify Public Works and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.
Signage on Private Roads
All signs on private roads are the responsibility of the landowners, with the exception of private road signs that are located on a Municipal, County or Provincial roadways, in which case, they are the responsibility of the respective entities as noted above.
If you would like to purchase a sign for a private road, the Township has a policy in place that enables you to take advantage of the Municipal purchasing discount.
