Beginning January 1st, 2025, The Township transitioned to the new Blue Box Regulation under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016. The provincial program is managed by Circular Materials (CM) and the Township and CM have an agreement in place where residents can drop off Blue Box Materials to each of the Township’s three (3) depot sites. CM is responsible for providing bins at the site and transporting the materials to a recycling center, where the material is sorted and sent to market. The Township is responsible for operating the depot and promoting proper recycling practices.
The Blue Box Program is a two-stream recycling program; Paper/Fibres and Containers.
