Tay Valley Township Thanks Former Councillor Kendrick For His Service
Tay Valley Township extends its gratitude to former Councillor Andrew Kendrick for his service on Council which began in mid-November 2022, co-representing Sherbrooke ward. Andrew resigned from Council effective June 30 due to illness.
"On behalf of Council I thank former Councillor Kendrick for his time and diligence in fulfilling his Council and also his two Board-related duties," said Reeve Rob Rainer. "Andrew was always prepared for Committee of the Whole and Council meetings, and regularly made insightful comments and posed good questions. In addition, representing Tay Valley Andrew was a valued member of the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority, and of the Board of the Perth & District Union Public Library. We wish him the very best as he navigates the time ahead and hope that he may return to good health."
At the August 13 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Committee (i.e., Council) will be briefed by the CAO/Clerk regarding the options available to fill the vacant Sherbrooke ward councillor seat. At its meeting on August 27th, Council will then vote on which option will be used, with anticipation that the vacancy would be filled before the end of the year. As well, Council will decide on who to appoint to represent the Township on the boards of the MVCA and the library.
