Tay Valley Township Appoints a New CAO/Clerk
On August 9, 2022, Tay Valley Township Council appointed Amanda Mabo as the new Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk (CAO/Clerk). Ms. Mabo has worked with Tay Valley Township as Clerk for 11 years and prior to that was the Clerk/Deputy CAO at the Township of Lanark Highlands (2008-2011) and Council/Clerk Assistant at the County of Lanark (2002-2008). Amanda is well acquainted with this position, filling in as Acting CAO/Clerk for Tay Valley Township in 2019 and again between 2020-2022.
Tay Valley Township is a place of geographic beauty and small business development, a haven for artisans and cottagers, with deep historic significance. Ms. Mabo is genuinely committed to its continued evolution into a thriving, accessible, rural area that maintains a healthy balance between growth and improvement while preserving the natural elements that make Tay Valley so special.
An experienced Administrator whose knowledge spans all aspects of municipal management, Ms. Mabo is a Certified Municipal Officer and has achieved many certifications, including:
- AMCTO (Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario) Executive Diploma in Municipal Management
- AMCTO Accounting and Finance
- AMCTO Municipal Law
- AMCTO Employment Law and Human Resources
- AMCTO Municipal Administrative Program
- Algonquin College Business Administration and Human Resources
