Tay Valley Township is seeking a casual part-time Truck Driver/Operator. Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the Truck Driver/Operator will be responsible for the operation of all light equipment as required to fulfill assigned duties including trucks and snowplows. The Truck Driver/Operator will maintain roads in accordance with established standards, identify road related problems, conduct daily inspections and maintain equipment in a safe operating condition, perform general building and facility maintenance, respond to emergency situations, among other public works related duties on an as needed basis. As the preferred candidate you will have exceptional customer service skills and have a solid understanding of safety rules and the use of personal protective equipment. The successful candidate will have working experience in a related area, be able to work with minimal supervision, and be willing to participate in training. Demonstrated experience working with the public is a requirement. You must possess excellent communication skills, strong time management and organizational skills, and a proficiency in English, written and spoken. A Class D driver’s license with a “Z” endorsement is a requirement.
The wage range is $25.28 to $28.09 per hour (based on 2023 rates). Hours of work will be on an as-needed basis.
