The Township develops a Strategic Plan each term of Council?

What is Strategic Planning?

• Preparing for the future;
• Establishing a long-term vision (what will the future look like) with goals;
• Developing and executing an action plan; and
• An overarching plan that integrates with the annual budget.

Why Plan Strategically?

• Builds an organization wide understanding of what fundamental issues or future choices are important;
• Provides guidance to Council on future policy matters;
• A guiding document for staff within the organization to inform strategic and operational decisions;
• An opportunity to review activities, programs and services delivered by a municipality to ensure they remain relevant and worthy of continued investment;
• A formal document with communications value that provides guidance to supporters, partners, and the community to understand municipal priorities; and
• A tool to install confidence to invest in the community and for other organizations to provide financial support to the municipality.
