In April, 2011, The Tay Valley Township ATV Task Force suggested council approve ATV use on Township roads.

This does NOT include:
-Provincial Highway #7
-any County roads (#’s 6,7,12,14,19,21 or 36)
-any Private roads.

ATVs are to be driven single-file on the shoulder or extreme right side of the road and must yield to other users of the road.

The maximum speed limit on ANY road is 20 km/hr

To drive on a road you must:
- have a G2 drivers licence;
- have plates, registration and insurance;
- have a properly maintained vehicle; and
- wear a helmet.

Enforced by the OPP, any person who contravenes the Highway Traffic Act or By-law 11-027 is guilty of an offence and subject to fines of $110 or more.

Residents are encouraged to report violations to the OPP by calling 613-267-2626 and to share any incidents or concerns with the Township.
