In 2016, Tay Valley Township, Perth, Drummond/North Elmsley and Beckwith will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of our heritage municipalities of Perth, Bathurst, North Burgess, South Sherbrooke, Drummond, North Elmsley and Beckwith.

To carry out the celebration of this significant event throughout our area, anniversary committees have already been established by Tay Valley, the Town of Perth and steps are underway to do the same in Drummond/North Elmsley and Beckwith Townships.

We encourage you or your organization to consider participation in this important anniversary, and, to this end, invite you or a representative from your organization to attend a drop-in information session on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Perth Museum, 11 Gore Street, Perth from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

We fully expect that the year 2016 will see a celebration of our community that will not be forgotten. Please do join us.

Objectives

Police Week is governed by four specific objectives:

  • To act as a vehicle in which to reinforce ties with the community;
  • To honour police officers for the public safety and security they provide to their communities;
  • To promote the work police do in their communities;
  • To inform the community about the police role in public safety and security
